Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the USA and is often lauded not only for the games’ competitive and fast paced style of play but also for the more leisurely paced game in a social setting. The growth of the sport has also created a need for more pickleball court access.
In our industry there are multiple approaches to accommodating both the tennis and pickleball players. Among them would be to install pickleball game lines within the tennis courts to create a dual sport court, or to convert existing tennis pads into pickleball facilities.
Sharing courts, nets and game lines with the sport of tennis has become a challenge for players of both sports. Additionally, should the surfacing for the tennis court be cushioned for the tennis player, the bounce of the wiffle ball will not be to a comfortable height for the pickleball player.
