July 2020: Latest NGI News

COVID-19 UPDATE

It appears we are beginning to make progress with the control of Covid-19 however it is still vital to stay within government advice. Some sports have resumed but currently without an audience. The U.S. Open Tennis is scheduled for August 24th to September 13th.

NGI Sports still recommends that we all observe the recommendations of the government and health authorities to stay a safe distance from others and as much as possible stay home.

Another very happy NGI Sports customer...

Hey Cory,

The accolades keep coming re: our NGI ProClay tennis court. The advanced players love the true bounce on a clay court surface, which makes competitive matches very dynamic but consistent. The court requires a lot of hand maintenance to keep the debris off, but this is a consequence of putting it in a garden setting. Interestingly, the court plays best wet, so the PNW weather (Spring and Fall) is practically perfect. When sunny and hot, the surface tends to dry out quickly, despite watering. Still fun to play on when dry, but it plays closer to a hard court. We hosted a men’s 5.0 – 6.0 doubles match last evening, and the guys raved about the court. “Best clay court match ever,” said one who plays winters in Argentina, and another, “My favorite court behind the grass court at Indian Wells.” It is fun to watch the guys adapt their hard court games to the tactile surface.

Thank you Cory!

Press Release | June 22, 2020 | Chattanooga, TN

NGI Sports, in collaboration with Ace Sports Surfaces is wrapping up a tennis court rebuild for Edgerton High School in Edgerton, WI utilizing NGI’s patented ProBounce tennis surfacing system.

The existing seven tennis courts at the High School were undulated, cracked and worn out. The consultant on the courts for the School, Mr. Fred Kolkmann with Fred Kolkmann Tennis and Sports Surfaces designed the rebuild which consisted of pulverizing the bases on the three and adjacent four court battery. New fencing, concrete curb and accessories were specified and installed.

NGI Sports worked directly with the local general contractor R T Fox Construction. The ProBounce surface was installed directly over the laser graded stone screenings to create a new tennis court playing surface. Midwest Tennis Courts, Mr. Paul Tulacka, completed the laser grading on the stone screenings and all surfacing work was completed by Sean Barry of Ace Sports.

School colors of grey and red were applied to finish the courts.
