Erick LaVine (Grandfather) started working in Minnesota with a close friend after arriving from Sweden with 50 cents in his pocket and two suitcases. After working with his friend for a few years he decided to start up his own company, Carlson LaVine. He established himself as a General contractor and quickly expanded by adding tennis court construction in the early 50s.

Over the years he gave the tennis court piece of the business the name Dermco. During Grandfather’s retirement the Company Carlson LaVine was sold and continues as a General Contracting Co. At this time the LaVine name was added to Dermco and Dermco-LaVine Construction continues the tennis court part of the original business.

Owned and operated by the 3rd and 4th generations, we continue the tradition of being family owned and operated. We believe that Grandfather would be pleased to see where Dermco-LaVine is today. We believe we have taken Dermco-LaVine to a new level in recreational and outdoor services including tennis courts, basketball, pickle ball, volleyball, shuffleboard and more in the summer, transitioning to snow and ice control in the winter.
