U.S. Open Tennis update
In spite of the cancellation of the Washington Open, the U.S. Open is still scheduled for Monday, August 31st start date says the United States Tennis Association. The Cincinnati Open and the US Open are still scheduled to take place back-to-back in New York from August 20. The decision to hold these events is based on health and safety, the interest of the sport, and financial viability. This is great news for all us tennis fans.
USTA report on Covid-19 states that Tennis is the number one least risk sport at this time, it’s tied with getting a take out meal.
“In the new reality of our world, this is also something that will probably be increasingly important in the future, even well beyond this current pandemic. People, especially parents and seniors, will look for these “safe” sports and activities that are naturally physically distant and can easily keep people from spreading or catching any sort of virus”
